Founder & CEO

Enrique Lanza is the Founder and Managing Partner of Marea Group, a Mexico-based investment platform dedicated to transforming the intersection of healthcare and finance. He founded Marea to build a long-term ecosystem of specialized financial and operating companies addressing structural inefficiencies in Mexico.

Enrique has been directly involved in all of Marea’s investments and strategic initiatives, notably leading the acquisition and integration of Lease For You, Mexico’s largest medical equipment leasing company, and the development of complementary verticals across healthcare financing and digital services. He has played a central role in shaping Marea’s vision as the country’s leading healthcare finance platform and guiding its expansion into adjacent businesses such as working capital, insurance, and digital health.

Before founding Marea, Enrique served as Executive Director at Goldman Sachs and Citigroup, where he focused on M&A, real estate, and opportunistic credit investments across Latin America and the United States. In addition to overseeing Marea’s investment strategy, he remains closely involved with the firm’s investors, strategic partners, and management teams to ensure alignment across all portfolio initiatives.

Enrique holds a degree in Economics and Finance from the Universidad de Oviedo and completed executive programs in strategy and investment management at the London School of Economics and Columbia University.

Pedro Múnera is Head of Finance at Marea Group, where he leads financial strategy, capital planning, and the execution of investments and M&A transactions across the firm’s core sectors. Previously, he led Capital Markets and Investor Relations at Niko Energy, structuring a $20 million debt facility and managing investor relations with firms like QED and Picus Capital. Pedro began his career in investment banking at Barclays, advising on M&A and capital markets deals in Mexico, and later joined Morpho Capital, where he executed private equity and credit investments in sectors such as consumer and fintech. Originally from Colombia, he has lived and worked in Mexico since 2013 and holds a B.A. in Financial Management from Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Mauricio Baillères is an Associate at Marea Group, specializing in investment strategy, corporate development, and financial analysis. He plays a key role in managing investor relationships, deal sourcing, negotiations, and portfolio company performance at Marea Group. He previously worked at Nubank, where he led initiatives such as evaluating M&A opportunities and launching the new debit card in Mexico, demonstrating strategic acumen. Mauricio began his career in M&A investment banking at Dadoo & Asociados and honed his expertise as a Summer Analyst at Fredericks Michael & Co., focusing on cross-border M&A and financial modeling.

Ricardo is responsible for conducting due diligence and research at Marea Group, with a focus on data extraction, analysis, and process automation. He specializes in scraping large datasets from untapped sources and extracting operational data from target companies to support investment evaluation and strategic decision-making. Ricardo brings strong expertise in automation and digitalization, leveraging tools and custom-built systems to streamline data workflows, improve accuracy, and reduce manual processes across Marea’s research operations. Previously, he worked in cloud architecture at Banco Santander, where he contributed to international data structure projects and implemented advanced data management solutions to enhance digital infrastructure and operational efficiency. With a background in economics, Ricardo translates raw data into actionable financial insights, helping drive informed decisions across Marea’s investment pipeline.

Maria is a seasoned Investment Banker who began her career at Goldman Sachs as an analyst on the Healthcare team in New York, specializing in the diagnostics and biotechnology sectors. In 2023, she joined Marea as an Associate in the Investment Team and now leads the M&A vertical. Guiding due-dilligence and modelling efforts. With over three years of experience, Maria has advised clients on M&A and capital markets transactions. She leverages her extensive expertise to deliver impactful results in every deal.

Previously, he was Commercial Director at Jaxon Media Group, where he launched VR/AR business lines and built partnerships with major corporations and NGOs.
